Public transport operator
In 2023 Mutares acquired Arriva Denmark from the Arriva Group, now operating as GoCollective after a rebranding.
GoCollective is a provider of multi modal public transport in Denmark, with business areas comprising a broad spectrum of transport and mobility services, including buses, trains, and water buses as well as a language and vocational education centre called UCplus. Annually, the company roughly transports 40 million passengers by bus, train or water bus and have more than 35.000 students at their education centres.
Strategy
The company’s strategic initiatives aim to bringing back the company as recognized and undisputed profitable market leader within public bus transportation and strengthening its position within Danish language and vocational education. Following the successful restructuring and turnaround of the legacy loss-making contracts, this will be achieved by regaining market shares in the bus division, and expansion the vocational and Danish language education portfolio, as well as complete a handover of the rail division to the national state-owned rail operator to ensure a full focus on core activities. The transition out of the rail operation is expected to be completed in 2026.
