mutares acquires Metsä Board Zanders

The Munich-based restructuring specialist mutares AG (ISIN: DE000A0SMSH2) acquires the German paper mill Gohrsmühle from the Finnish paperboard producer Metsä Board. In 2014, the company generated sales of EUR 93m with around 480 employees.

Gohrsmühle was founded in 1829 by Johann Wilhelm Zanders and became internationally renowned for its select range of high quality and innovative fine papers. Especially the worldwide known premium brand CHROMOLUX stands for these values. Many customers in the consumer and luxury goods industries, like Danone, Heineken, Nestlé, Chanel and the LVMH Group, rely on the high quality of CHROMOLUX paper for their high-end labelling and packaging applications. The company will build its further growth on this very strong market position.

The annual production capacity amounts to 325.000 tons of paper. With around 480 employees, the company generated sales of EUR 93m in 2014. For 2015 a further increase up to more than EUR 100m is planned. The transaction is still subject to approval by the German Federal Cartel Authority which is expected by end of May 2015.
