Acquisition of Ledertech GmbH, Bopfingen

mutares AG buys Ledertech GmbH (http://www.ledertech.de/), located in Bopfingen, Germany. Ledertech produces and distributes leatherboard materials, which are used for the production of various products in the leather, automotive components, packaging and building materials industries.

Exporting more than 90% of its sales, Ledertech is one of the leading global suppliers of leatherboard. The focus of Ledertech lies on high quality material that provides its customers with significant cost savings in the production process.

For many decades, Ledertech had been family owned. After the sale of the adhesives-plant Bopfingen to Henkel AG & Co KGaA in 1995, and assisting with the integration, Peter Detzner (aged 76) maintained the responsibility for the Ledertech activities. With mutares as the new shareholder, the development of the company enters a new phase.

mutares sees a clear upside potential for Ledertech in further strengthening sales activities and in the development of new applications for leatherboard.
