Market leader in gas related systems, technology and services.
Gas Solutions is an engineering and service provider of cargo-handling and fuel-supply systems for onshore gas facilities and marine liquid natural gas carriers, as well as advanced technologies for the conversion and handling of liquid natural gases and biogas.
Headquartered in Asker, Norway, Gas Solutions operates across nine global locations and employs roughly 500 people, with major operational centers in Norway, Sweden, and Poland. Its customer base spans global shipyards, gas producers, energy infrastructure developers, and industrial operators requiring highly engineered gas‑handling solutions. Gas Solutions is widely regarded as the leading independent specialist across all of its segments.
Strategy
Gas Solutions operates at the heart of one of the strongest macro‑energy transitions globally: the accelerated shift from conventional fossil fuels toward lower‑emission alternatives such as LNG and biogas. This trend is driving long‑term demand for advanced gas‑handling, fuel‑supply, and liquefaction systems.
Following the agreement signed with Wärtsilä in December, Gas Solutions is being carved out from a large listed Nordic conglomerate to operate as a fully standalone engineering, technology and services company. The business represents a classic complex carve‑out with significant operational separation requirements and a substantial portfolio of guarantees that must be transferred and managed, a situation for which Mutares’ restructuring and carve‑out expertise provides a uniquely strong fit.
Strategically, Gas Solutions will focus on (i) strengthening its leadership position across the LNG, LPG and biogas value chains; (ii) expanding aftermarket and service revenues; (iii) enhancing commercial excellence and project‑delivery efficiency to support margin improvement; (iv) leveraging the large secured orderbook to drive stable, predictable performance through 2026–2027 while executing the carve‑out; and (v) positioning the company for long‑term growth as an independent global technology leader benefiting from structural energy‑transition demand.
