KGaA (ISIN:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eqs-cockpit.com\/cgi-bin\/fncls.ssp?fn=redirect&amp;url=5c5af5c64c97d6f811dc9447e1133621&amp;application_id=2109328&amp;site_id=airport_aws~~~7cc68db1-74de-43c8-af69-2ae0a97efdc3&amp;application_name=news\">DE000A2NB650<\/a> \u201cMutares\u201d) and Continental group sector Automotive, which is planned to become the independent company Aumovio in September 2025, today announced the signing of an agreement under which Mutares will acquire Continental\u2019s drum brakes production and R&amp;D location in Cairo Montenotte (Italy). As part of the share deal, Mutares will take over all employees and business activities. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and approvals and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The transaction strengthens Mutares\u2019 Automotive &amp; Mobility segment as a new platform investment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continental\u2019s location in Cairo Montenotte (Savona), Italy, is a production and R&amp;D site for hydraulic drum brakes. It manufactures products such as Parking Brake for Simplex Brakes (EPB-Si) and the Drum Brake (Si). The Company is expected to generate about EUR 100 million of revenues in 2025 and employs around 400 people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, said: \u201cWith the acquisition of the Continental\u2019s Cairo Montenotte site we are strengthening our Automotive &amp; Mobility segment. The long-standing expertise, strong product portfolio and highly skilled workforce provide an excellent foundation for operational development and future growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Philipp von Hirschheydt, member of the Continental Executive Board and CEO of the future Aumovio, commented: \u201cWe are confident that Mutares, with its extensive experience in the automotive business, is the right owner to lead this site into the future.
